Visit by International Science Youth Forum 2010 (ISYF 2010) Delegates

A group of 93 delegates from Singapore and ASEAN region participated in the International Science Youth Forum 2010 (ISYF 2010) organized by the Hwa Chong Institute. The objective of the ISYF is to bring together top Science students from premier schools in Singapore and the ASEAN region with the objective of developing in students a global mindset in the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

IME hosted a total of 9 delegates including teachers and facilitators on 21 January 2010. Mr Mohanraj, team leader of IME's Youth Science Programme, led the group in hands-on activities in the cleanroom. The experiments included resistance measurements of the four point probe, plasma etch rate evaluation for dielectric and wet chemical etch rate evaluation for dielectric using Statistical Process Control (SPC) wafers.

The workshop provided the delegates with an in-depth understanding and experience in performing research work in a laboratory and, most importantly, the delegates had great fun performing the experiments.
