16 Final Year Project (FYP) students from the Diploma in Micro & Nanotechnology (DMNT), Republic Polytechnic presented their research findings in a poster presentation organized on 20 January 2010. This is the first time IME organized a poster presentation for Republic Polytechnic FYP students. Dr Teo Yong Chua, Deputy Executive Director, was invited to grace the opening of the event.

The presentation provided a platform for the students to share and exchange their research works as well as to practice their presentation skills before their school presentation.

The students were grouped into teams of 4 and each team came up with 2 posters showcasing their 32 weeks of research findings. A total of 8 posters were displayed and the students successfully gave descriptions of their project and answered all queries directed by the judges and audience.

The panel of judges had a hard time determining the winner. In the end, the team working on "Optical Imaging for Biological Applications" won the best group poster and walked away with attractive cash prize of $200.
