2008 Symposium on VLSI Technology Conference

One of IME’s missions is to train and develop next generation of scientists, so that the electronics industries in Singapore have access to high quality R&D researchers. IME has established numerous research collaborations with universities and industry partners, offering an excellent environment for doing graduate (Master and PhD) studies in upstream application driven research. Successful Master/PhD applicants with NTU/NUS and AGS scholars who are interested to conduct their graduate research work in IME, may join us through several ways: the IME Joint Microelectronics Laboratory (JML) with Universities, A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (AGS), or contact us via email at uni-collaboration@ime.a-star.edu.sg for possible collaborations with your university supervisor.

IME Joint Microelectronics Laboratory (JML) with Universities

IME Joint Microelectronics Laboratories have been established between NUS and NTU in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The purpose of these JMLs is to promote joint research and development activities of mutual interest in accordance with the respective needs and objectives. IME and universities will jointly identify the areas and subjects of such collaborations.

A*STAR Graduate Scholarships (AGS)

The AGS is a "4+2" scholarship comprising a four-year PhD study tenable at NUS or NTU, and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in one of the top overseas universities or research laboratories in the scholar's chosen field. Areas of studies include biomedical sciences, physical sciences and engineering.

Singapore students can now earn imperial PhD while based in Singapore.

Our Supervisors

As a firm believer in training the next generation of scientists for Singapore, many IME researchers are available as supervisors for successful Master/PhD applicants with NTU/NUS and AGS scholars. In addition, many NUS and NTU faculties are associated with IME through close research collaborations and co-supervision of graduate students.
