Miniaturised Medical Devices (MMD) Programme

Miniaturised medical devices are a major opportunity for advancing Medtech into new avenues by enhancing medical technology and making it affordable to all. IME researchers are designing, fabricating, packaging (with excellent biocompatibility) and testing highly sensitive and miniaturised Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) that can measure physiological parameters for medical applications. All these are integrated with Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) and wireless interface circuits that consume ultra-low levels of power.

The following applications and associated technologies are currently under pursuit in collaboration with academia and local medical partners such as National University Hospital (NUH), Alexandra Hospital, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and National Neuro Institute (NNI).
