IME and Accent S.p.A, a leading system-on-chip silicon solution provider based in Europe, have entered into a collaborative agreement to develop ultra low power radio frequency (RF) designs for specialised applications, such as wireless sensor networks.
While looking for RF design expertise to complement its strong digital design team, Accent saw in IME a partner with a track record of developing novel and leading edge RFCMOS design technologies, as well as a research institute with broad-based capability in RFCMOS modeling, packaging and MEMS.
IME is developing a specialised ultra low power RFCMOS transceiver for application in wireless sensor networks. The unique needs of the application require a novel RF design architecture and circuit design techniques which can deliver long operational life in harsh environments.
Ranked 6th in Europe by market research firm Future Horizons, Accent provides a full turnkey solution for microelectronics product design. It has offices and design facilities in Italy and representatives in UK, Germany, Sweden, Israel and US.
