Scientist - Silicon Photonics, Active Devices

Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate, and characterize silicon photonic component, with emphasis on silicon avalanche photodetectors and arrays
  • Work with a team of engineers and researchers to develop novel CMOS compatible photonic devices fabrication technology
  • Develop and realize new device structure and processes in compliance to project specifications and requirements
  • Establish and secure collaborations with leaders in the photonics field, including both academic researchers and industry partners

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in electrical engineering/applied physics or equivalent with major strength in device physics and process integration
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in research and development with a history of successful project management
  • Good knowledge and experience in silicon micro-fabrication processes, knowledge and experience of test and characterization of single photon counting devices would be an advantage
  • Good publication's track record in relevant fields
  • Capable to work with interdisciplinary team of researchers
  • Excellent communication, presentation and technical writing skills
