1. Research Scientist/Senior Research Engineer - Si-Photonics

You will lead the effort at the System Level for IME's integrated Si-Photonics technology.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Define technology requirements and components specifications with various stakeholders (including customers and other teams working on Si-photonics Devices and Integration, and Assembly/Packaging), such as for high speed transceivers
• Define the general technology requirements/component specifications for the Research/Development roadmap for Photonics based Products
• Develop System level methodology in validating IME technology to meet the quality and reliability specification
• Support the Electronics required to support Photonics, Electro-Photonics characterization. E.g. drivers, amplifiers, circuit board design

Requirements:

• PhD in Physics, Electrical/Electronics
• At least 5 years of photonics system level experience, III-V and/or Si Photonics
• Experience in interfacing with other groups
• Good understanding of System Architectures of Photonics in communications
• Demonstrated ability to architect and implement in system level by working with both technology development team and customers
• Exposure to broadband data applications
• Exposure to Electro-Optic components (i.e., Laser, Photodetector, Modulator) with Hands on on High-Speed Test Equipments (e.g., BERTS, Spectrum Analyzers), and RF Testing Knowledge
• Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Self-starter with potential for technical leadership and coaching/teaching skills
