Wan Ling
was categorized under MAT and there are 70 students in this category.
Let us hear what Wan Ling has to say about how she feels on winning this award. "My Final Year Project on "Electrical Sensing of Calcium Ions Using a Nanowire Array" is collaboration between NUS and IME. Both NUS and IME provided me with leading laboratories, pilot facilities, and necessary infrastructure to carry out high standard research program. This is definitely an enriching year, where I gained a lot of invaluable experiences in a totally different dimension. Nowhere else would I be able to immerse myself so thoroughly in the wealth of knowledge and to draw insights infinitely richer for cross-disciplinary learning. I also discovered that the research field is very intriguing, and challenging. Yet, I gladly learn and welcome challenges as opportunities for me to stretch my limits. Such a liberating and inspiring experience was truly priceless. Being awarded 2nd best project for "Functionalized and Nanostructured Materials and Devices" category can be aptly described as icing on the dessert. I was elated that my project gained recognition from the judging panel, and felt that all my efforts for the past few months paid off. I will always remember the depth and intensity of shared experiences with supervisors and lab mates. I sincerely thank my supervisors and all the staff who helped to make this project successful." |
